A video featuring Kagiso Rabada has gone viral on social media, with the Gujarat Titans pacer allegedly seen smoking what appears to be a cigarette at an unconfirmed location. The clip has triggered widespread chatter online, with fans debating the visuals and raising questions, even as its authenticity remains unverified.

It is important to note that indiatoday.tech could not independently verify the authenticity of the video. While Rabada appears in the footage, several other individuals, believed to be associated with the Gujarat Titans setup, are also seen in the clip. However, their identities could not be established, adding further uncertainty around the context, timing, and setting of the video.

Rabada, one of South Africa’s premier fast bowlers, has been an important figure for Gujarat Titans this season. He is currently seventh in the Purple Cap standings, having claimed 10 wickets from six matches. The right-arm quick has averaged 22.20, with an economy rate of 9.73, underlining his impact in the team’s bowling unit despite a few expensive outings.

The resurfacing of the clip has also brought focus back on Rabada’s past disciplinary record. During the previous IPL season, he served a one-month ban imposed by the South African Institute for Drug Free Sports. He had exited the tournament midway to serve the suspension before returning to rejoin the Gujarat Titans squad. However, the exact details of the doping offence were never made public, leaving room for speculation.

At present, Gujarat Titans sit sixth on the IPL points table with three wins so far and remain in the hunt for a playoff spot. They will be back in action on April 24, when they take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, a crucial fixture as they look to build momentum in the second half of the campaign.

Earlier in the season, a similar situation had emerged when a viral clip allegedly showed Yuzvendra Chahal smoking and driving. While that video too remained unverified, it had sparked significant backlash on social media, with fans criticising the behaviour and raising concerns.

For now, the Rabada video remains unconfirmed, even as it continues to circulate widely and fuel conversations across platforms, with no official clarification yet from the player or the franchise.
