While many on social media trolled Kavya Maran for her emotional reactions during Sunrisers Hyderabad’s crushing Eliminator defeat against Rajasthan Royals, the SRH owner made sure to congratulate the teenager who caused most of the damage. Moments after the match, Kavya was seen shaking hands and briefly chatting with 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi following his breathtaking knock in Mullanpur.

Rajasthan Royals teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once again became the biggest talking point of IPL 2026 after his stunning Eliminator innings against Sunrisers Hyderabad helped RR storm into Qualifer 2.

Sooryavanshi smashed a sensational 97 off just 29 balls as Rajasthan Royals defeated SRH by 47 runs to keep their title hopes alive. The youngster’s fearless hitting completely dismantled Hyderabad’s bowling attack and left social media stunned throughout the night.

The post-match interaction between Kavya and Sooryavanshi quickly went viral online, especially after the SRH owner’s emotional reactions during the game had already become a major talking point across social media.

The SRH owner had endured a difficult evening in the stands as Hyderabad’s campaign slowly unravelled during the massive 244-run chase.

HOW VAIBHAV DESTROYED SRH BOWLERS

For nearly the entire evening, Sunrisers Hyderabad looked like a bowling attack running out of ideas against Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

Pat Cummins kept moving fielders around, paused repeatedly for chats with his senior players and kept trying different plans against the teenager. One over it was yorkers at the stumps, the next came sharp bouncers into the body. Then slower balls, cutters and wider lines outside off followed.

Vaibhav still kept finding the boundary.

The 15-year-old batted with a kind of freedom that never allowed SRH to settle. Full balls were launched straight back over the sightscreen. Short deliveries disappeared behind square. And whenever the bowlers drifted onto his pads, he whipped them effortlessly into the stands.

Even Cummins, usually one of the calmest captains around, slowly looked short of answers as the innings slipped away from Hyderabad.

By the time Vaibhav finally fell for 97 off just 29 balls, he had already smashed 12 sixes and five boundaries at a strike rate above 334, while leaving the fastest century in IPL history only three runs away.

HOW KAVYA MARAN REACTED TO THE SOORYAVANSHI SHOW

While Vaibhav lit up Mullanpur, Kavya Maran’s reactions from the stands also became widely discussed online. Cameras repeatedly captured the SRH owner looking increasingly emotional as Hyderabad’s bowling attack struggled badly and wickets later tumbled during the chase.

Jofra Archer’s fiery opening spell then completely knocked SRH out of the contest as Hyderabad collapsed to 57 for 4 inside five overs while chasing 244.

By the second half of the chase, the match had almost entirely slipped away from SRH and Kavya could only watch helplessly as Hyderabad’s IPL 2026 journey came to an end.

Following the defeat, sections of social media also revisited SRH’s earlier celebrations after beating Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk during the league stage, with some fans trolling Kavya Maran online after the Eliminator loss.

But despite the heartbreak, Kavya’s gesture towards Sooryavanshi after the match won praise online, with many fans appreciating the sportsmanship shown by the SRH owner.
