Tempers boiled over in the 2026 edition of the Pakistan Super League as Mohammad Amir and Faheem Ashraf were involved in a heated on-field exchange during the clash between Rawalpindiz and Islamabad United on Thursday, April 23 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
The flashpoint came after Amir struck a crucial blow, dismissing Ashraf in what had already been a tense contest. The left-arm pacer, known for his aggressive streak, produced a fiery send-off as Ashraf began walking back.

The gesture did not sit well with the Islamabad United all-rounder, who turned around, pointed his bat toward Amir and exchanged words, sparking a brief but intense confrontation in the middle. Teammates and on-field players quickly stepped in to defuse the situation before it could escalate further.
RAWALPINDIZ FINALLY WIN A MATCH
Rawalpindiz finally broke their losing streak in the PSL with a six-wicket win over Islamabad United. Chasing 138, they reached 140 for four in 18.1 overs, securing their first victory of the season after eight consecutive defeats, though they had already been eliminated from playoff contention.
Islamabad United posted 137 after a stuttering innings. Devon Conway top-scored with 40, while Chris Green added a late 29. However, consistent breakthroughs kept them in check. Mohammad Amir and Saad Masood claimed two wickets apiece, leading a disciplined bowling effort.
In reply, Rawalpindiz lost an early wicket but recovered through a 78-run partnership between Mohammad Rizwan (45) and Kamran Ghulam (42). After their departures, Daryl Mitchell guided the chase with an unbeaten 32, finishing the job alongside Dian Forrester.
Despite wickets from Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim and Chris Green, Islamabad lacked the firepower to defend a below-par total. For Rawalpindiz, the win offered a late consolation in an otherwise disappointing campaign.
Rawalpidiz will now be looking to finish off on a high when they face Hyderabad Kingsmen in their last league match. The United, on the other hand, stayed at third spot and will look to return to winning ways when they next face Hyderabad on April 24.
