French Open, Day 1 schedule: Novak Djokovic, Mirra Andreeva set to kick off campaign

The French Open 2026 begins with an exciting line-up at Roland Garros, featuring stars such as Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz and teenage sensation Mirra Andreeva in first-round action across the show courts.

Court Philippe-Chatrier will host some of the biggest matches of the day. The action begins with Belinda Bencic of Switzerland taking on Austrian qualifier Sinja Kraus. Germany’s Alexander Zverev, among the favourites for the title, will then face Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi. Rising Russian star Mirra Andreeva, seeded eighth, also begins her campaign against French wild card Fiona Ferro.

The night session on Philippe-Chatrier will see 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic take on Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in a crucial first-round clash. Djokovic enters the tournament looking to win another Roland Garros title despite concerns over his form and fitness during the clay season.

Court Suzanne-Lenglen will feature Karen Khachanov against French wild card Arthur Gea, while Taylor Fritz faces fellow American Nishesh Basavareddy. Former French Open champion Barbora Krejcikova will take on Hailey Baptiste, while Sorana Cirstea faces French teenager Ksenia Efremova.

Meanwhile, Court Simonne-Mathieu will host several exciting young talents. Marta Kostyuk, who won the Madrid Open title, opens against Oksana Selekhmeteva, while Katie Volynets faces Clara Burel. Czech youngster Jakub Mensik takes on Titouan Droguet, and Brazilian teenager Joao Fonseca, one of the breakout stars of the season, begins his campaign against French qualifier Luca Pavlovic.
