Amazon launches Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio in India with premium audio upgrades

Amazon has launched two new premium smart speakers in India — the Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio. The company claims the new devices arrive with upgraded audio capabilities, smarter home automation features, and refreshed designs. While the Echo Dot Max focuses on delivering stronger bass and improved compact audio, the Echo Studio brings Dolby Atmos-powered spatial audio for a more immersive listening experience.

Both smart speakers come with Alexa built in and are powered by Amazon’s custom AZ3 silicon chips. Amazon says the new devices are designed not only for music playback but also to function as smart home control centres with support for advanced automation features.

Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio come with premium audio

Amazon says the Echo Dot Max is the “best Echo Dot yet.” The speaker features a redesigned two-way speaker system with a dedicated woofer and tweeter setup. According to the company, it delivers nearly three times more bass compared to the Echo Dot (5th Gen). The smart speaker also automatically adapts its sound profile based on room acoustics.

The Echo Studio, meanwhile, supports room-adapting spatial audio and Dolby Atmos. It combines a high-excursion woofer with three full-range drivers to create a surround-sound-like experience. Amazon has also refreshed the design of the Echo Studio with a more compact spherical body and a new 3D knit fabric finish.

Both devices support music streaming services including Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Music, JioSaavn, and Audible. Users can also pair multiple Echo devices with compatible Fire TV sticks to create a home theatre setup.

New Echo devices get Omnisense smart home features

Alongside better audio, Amazon has added Omnisense technology to both devices. The feature uses sensors such as motion detection, ultrasound, Wi-Fi radar, and temperature sensing to enable more proactive smart home automation. For example, users can automate compatible lights, fans, ACs, and other smart appliances based on room activity.

The Echo Dot Max is also the first Echo Dot model to include a built-in smart home hub with support for Zigbee, Matter, Thread, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity protocols.

The Echo Dot Max is priced at Rs 10,999 and comes in Graphite, Amethyst, and Glacier White colour options. The Echo Studio is priced at Rs 23,999 and is available in Graphite and Glacier White colours. Both devices are available through Amazon and Flipkart.
