Xiaomi 17T hits global markets alongside 17T Pro, coming to India on June 4

Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro are official. Both smartphones are part of Xiaomi’s new T-series and launching globally with Leica cameras and MediaTek chipsets in tow. At least one of these models, the Xiaomi 17T, is confirmed to launch in India on June 4.

The Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro share the same family name, but a closer look reveals some meaningful differences between the two.

Starting with the display, the standard 17T offers a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. The 17T Pro steps up with a larger 6.83-inch AMOLED screen and a smoother 144Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the 17T runs on MediaTek's Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset supplemented by Xiaomi's own Surge T1 Plus and T1S chips, along with a 3D Ice Loop cooling system to keep things in check during heavy use. There's also support for Astro Communication, which Xiaomi says can enable offline communication over distances of up to 1.3 kilometre in certain conditions. The 17T Pro, meanwhile, is built around the more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset.

Both phones share a Leica-tuned triple camera setup, featuring a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto with 5x optical zoom and a 12-megapixel ultrawide. On the main sensor front — the 17T uses a 50-megapixel Light Fusion 800, while the Pro upgrades to the Light Fusion 950. Both models also come with a 32-megapixel front camera and support for 4K HDR10 video at up to 60fps.

Battery life is another area where the Pro pulls ahead. The 17T carries a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon cell with 67W wired charging, while the Pro bumps that up to 7,000mAh with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support. Both phones run Android 16-based HyperOS 3 and are fully integrated into the broader Xiaomi ecosystem.

The Xiaomi 17T is priced at EUR 749 (roughly Rs 83,500) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, while the 512GB model comes in at EUR 799 (roughly Rs 89,000). The Xiaomi 17T Pro starts at a higher EUR 899 (roughly Rs 1,02,000) for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage configuration, with the 512GB and 1TB variants priced at EUR 999 (roughly Rs 1,11,400) and EUR 1,099 (roughly Rs 1,22,500) respectively.

On the colours front, the 17T offers more variety with four options — Black, Blue, Opal White, and Violet — while the Pro keeps it more understated with Deep Blue, Deep Violet, and Black. Both phones are currently on sale in the UK and select European markets.
