Ahaan Panday talks of a possible collaboration with Aryan Khan
Actor Ahaan Panday said he is open to working with director Aryan Khan in the future. However, he had a special condition that harks back to their childhood bond.
Aryan Khan has grown up in the spotlight, but mostly as Shah Rukh Khan’s son. Born in 1997, he spent his early years in Mumbai before studying abroad. School in London, then film and television at the University of Southern California.
He has been seen on screen before, but only in passing. A child cameo in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Voice work for Hindi dubs of The Incredibles and later The Lion King. Still, acting was never his focus.
Over time, Aryan turned to other ventures. He co-founded Slab Ventures and built two lifestyle brands under that banner. One in luxury spirits, D’YAVOL Vodka. Another in fashion, D’YAVOL X. Both aimed at a premium market, both carrying his imprint more as creator than promoter.
In 2025, Aryan finally stepped into film, not in front of the camera, but behind it. His Netflix series The Bads of Bollywood released in August. It is a satirical take on the industry he has watched all his life. The launch was also his first direct media appearance. He admitted he was nervous, but also determined to be judged for his own work.
The premiere drew support from family friends in the film industry, though comparisons with Shah Rukh Khan were inevitable. Aryan has said little on that front, keeping the focus on writing and directing.
For now, he seems intent on building a space for himself, in business, in storytelling, and outside the shadow of his father. Whether audiences embrace him in this new role will take time, but the first step has been made.
