Born on March 3, 1967, Shankar Mahadevan is an Indian playback singer and music composer who is a part of the famous Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy musical trio.
Shankar Mahadevan learned Hindustani classical and Carnatic music at a very young age and studied music under Pandit Shrinivas Khale and TR Balamani.
He attended Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School, and completed his degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering from Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology in Navi Mumbai in 1988.
After working as a software engineer, Shankar Mahadevan ventured into music and made his singing debut with the 1994 film in which he sang two songs Petta rap and Urvasi Urvasi.
His Bollywood debut song was Tum Nahi Jaana. Some of Shankar Mahadevan’s hit songs include Chamma Chamma, Kay Sera Sera, Kajra Re among others.
In 1998, he released his first album Breathless which rose him to fame.
On the personal front, Shankar Mahadevan tied the knot with Sangeeta in 1992 after years of dating. The couple has two sons.
