Viral pic of six children on a scooter in Bengaluru draws police attention
A Bengaluru man shared the picture and claimed the incident took place on April 26 on Padarayanapura Main Road near Gowripalya. Tagging the Bengaluru City Police and traffic authorities, he urged officials to take action.

A photograph showing six young children riding a scooter on a busy road in Bengaluru has triggered widespread outrage on social media, with many users calling for strict action against those responsible.
An X user, Shreyas Shreyu, shared the picture and claimed the incident took place on April 26 at around 10:45 am on Padarayanapura Main Road near Gowripalya. Tagging the Bengaluru City Police and traffic authorities, he urged officials to take action.
“This happened today, April 26, 2026, at 10:45 am. These kids are illegally riding a scooter at Padarayanapura Main Road near Gowripalya, opposite Total Engineer Auto Gas, near the new bridge. Please take necessary action, @BlrCityPolice @blrcitytraffic,” Shreyas said, adding, “Please take necessary action against these kids’ parents.”
The image appears to show one boy steering the scooter while five other children sit behind him. None of them are seen wearing helmets. It remains unclear whether the children were actually riding the vehicle or posing for a picture, though Shreyas alleged they were “illegally riding.”
Responding to the complaint, the Bengaluru Traffic Police acknowledged the post and tagged the official account of the Magadi Road Traffic Police Station for further action.
The incident triggered sharp responses online, with many users blaming parents for allowing underage children access to vehicles.
“Arrest the parents and keep them in jail for a week; then everything will be set right. Parents are the root cause. They want their children to behave beyond their age limits, and this is the result of such thinking,” one user commented.
Others echoed similar sentiments. “Parents should be sent to jail for giving vehicles to kids,” wrote one user, while another said, “Underage riding is a serious violation and puts lives at risk. Authorities should take strict action.”
Several users also stressed that accountability must extend beyond the children. “Parents are the culprits. They should be punished,” read another comment.
Under Indian traffic laws, allowing minors to drive is a punishable offence, with penalties imposed on guardians or vehicle owners.
