Blinkit delivery man's moment with cricket bat reminds many of unfinished dreams

For a brief moment, a Blinkit delivery man forgot about pending orders, traffic and the rush of the day after spotting a cricket bat kept outside a customer’s house.

Moments after delivering an order, the executive was preparing to leave when his eyes fell on the bat resting near the entrance. Unable to resist, he picked it up, practised a few shots and soaked in the moment like a cricketer back on the field.

Before walking away, he gently kissed the bat and carefully placed it back where he had found it.

As the video went viral on social media, several viewers said it captured the emotional connection millions of Indians have with cricket and the dreams often left behind because of life’s responsibilities.

“Responsibilities won, dreams shattered,” one user commented.

Someone also spoke of “boys and their love for cricket,” adding: “I have seen many boys doing bowling actions without any ball, just like that.”

“You can take a man away from cricket, but you can never take cricket away from the common man. That little kiss on the bat,” another user said.
