Boy waves at Rahul Gandhi during birthday lunch, gets a surprise in return

A chance encounter at a restaurant turned into a memorable birthday surprise for a young boy after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi warmly interacted with him during a family lunch outing.

In a post on X that has now gone viral, Dr SJT Kazmi shared a photograph of his son posing with Rahul Gandhi at a restaurant.

Kazmi said that he had taken his son out for lunch on his birthday when they noticed Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra seated at a table nearby with their family. That is when his son waved at Rahul Gandhi, who then called the boy over and made his birthday memorable.

"Was out for lunch on my son's birthday today. As luck would have it, Rahul Gandhi ji and Priyanka ji were at a nearby table with family. My son waved at him in excitement, Mr Gandhi called him and made his birthday memorable! Thank you, sir,” Kazmi said in the caption of the post.

In a follow-up post, he added, “Thank you Rahul ji and Priyanka ji for the kind gesture! This is the best birthday present my son could have ever imagined or wished for! Thank you.”

Meanwhile, several users praised the leaders for the gesture and shared similar experiences. Among them was Dr Rakesh Bansal, who reposted Kazmi's tweet and recalled a personal encounter involving Rahul Gandhi.

"This brought back memories of a similar experience I had in Chanakyapuri,” Bansal wrote, adding: "My friend and I were having dinner when Rahul Gandhi ji was seated at a table right in front of us. A family celebrating a birthday at the next table cut the cake and went over for a photograph. He posed so warmly and wished them like he was part of their family - genuinely humble and down-to-earth. Truly heartwarming."

The viral post drew numerous reactions from users, many of whom described the interaction as a thoughtful gesture that made the young boy's birthday celebration even more special.
