Gurugram intern breaks down his Rs 3,700-a-day cost to company beyond stipend

An intern working at a corporate office in Gurugram has shared how much his company spends on him beyond his stipend, claiming the perks add up to more than Rs 81,000 a month.

Gaurav Dhama recorded a typical office day and shared a video titled, “How much my company spends on me apart from CTC?”

He shared the video on Instagram and jokingly captioned it: “Stipend badha do (Please increase my stipend).”

Gaurav’s office commute itself costs the company heavily as he estimated his morning cab ride from Delhi to Gurugram at Rs 950 and the evening cab during peak traffic hours at Rs 1,250.

He also included the cost of meals and amenities available at the workplace. Breakfast, which included fruits, jam toast, cereal, cucumber and tomatoes, was valued at Rs 150. Lunch was pegged at Rs 250, while snacks throughout the day added another Rs 250.

Dhama further counted gym access worth Rs 150, four mocha coffees a day worth Rs 200, indoor games like table tennis and pool worth Rs 150, stationery worth Rs 100, dry fruits worth Rs 150 and fruits worth Rs 100.

He humorously listed “fresh air” and a “cute colleague” at zero cost.

Adding all the expenses together, Dhama estimated that the company spends around Rs 3,700 on him every day. Calculated over 22 working days in a month, he claimed the total comes to approximately Rs 81,400 monthly.
