Mysuru man caught urinating in front of mirror wall meant to shame offenders
The video, shared by Karnataka Portfolio, shows the Mysuru man relieving himself in front of the mirror-covered wall that had been installed by civic authorities as a deterrent against such behaviour.

Barely a week after mirrors were installed along a roadside wall in Mysuru to discourage public urination, a new video has surfaced showing a man urinating in front of the reflective panels unfazed by the civic initiative.
The clip, shared by Karnataka Portfolio, shows the man relieving himself in front of the mirror-covered wall that had been installed by civic authorities as a deterrent against such behaviour. Moments later, another man walks up to confront him.
“Shame doesn’t work when there’s no shame left,” read the caption accompanying the video. The post reiterated that it had not even been a week since the mirrors were installed on the road in Mysuru to create “awareness and accountability”, yet some people continued such behaviour “without any hesitation”.
“If citizens don’t change their mindset, no initiative will truly work,” the post said.
The mirrors were installed last week by the Mysore City Corporation near the suburban bus stand in the city. Instead of relying solely on fines or warnings, authorities opted for a behavioural nudge by covering the wall with reflective steel mirrors so that offenders would be forced to see their own reflection.
The initiative had drawn praise online for its unusual approach and was seen as part of broader cleanliness efforts linked to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. However, the latest clip has now triggered outrage on social media, with many users expressing frustration over the persistence of public urination despite the civic intervention.
