A week of sleepless nights, repeated power cuts and unanswered complaints pushed a Navi Mumbai woman to an unusual form of protest: she took her pillow to the local electricity office. Videos of the incident have since gone viral.

The clips, filmed in Ulwe's Sector 8 area, show a visibly distressed woman pleading for authorities to intervene after enduring what she says has been more than a week of sleepless nights due to prolonged electricity outages.

In the first video, the woman breaks down as she describes the toll the situation has taken on her mental and physical well-being. Fighting back tears, she explains that power is allegedly being cut every night and often does not return until the early hours of the morning.

According to her, she usually returns home from work around 11 pm, only to spend the night battling heat and discomfort without electricity. The situation has become particularly exhausting because she has to leave for work again at around 6 am.

"I haven't slept properly in a week," she says in the video, adding that she feels overwhelmed and unable to cope with the continuing disruptions. She urges those responsible for the power supply to take notice of the issue and provide relief to residents.

But it was a second video that struck an even stronger chord online.

In the clip, the same woman is seen carrying a pillow through the streets late at night and heading to the local electricity office. Frustrated after repeated complaints allegedly yielded no results, she sarcastically tells officials that she has come there to sleep because the office has electricity while her neighbourhood remains in darkness.

The unusual protest quickly captured attention on social media, where users praised her for highlighting a problem many residents face but often struggle to bring attention to.

As the videos spread online, hundreds of people expressed sympathy for the woman and shared similar experiences of recurring power outages in their own localities. Others called on electricity authorities to address the issue urgently, arguing that reliable power supply is a basic necessity rather than a luxury.

While the videos have generated widespread discussion, they have also highlighted a larger concern: when essential services repeatedly fail, frustration can quickly turn into desperation. For many viewers, the woman's emotional appeal was not just about electricity. It was about the exhaustion that comes from feeling unheard.
