A viral video of Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi travelling by Delhi Metro has left the internet amused for one simple reason: even the head of Uber trusts the metro more during rush hour.

The Uber CEO shared glimpses of himself travelling by metro to Jor Bagh, and the internet quickly found the moment both amusing and oddly relatable. Dressed in a 'Modi jacket' and moving through the station like an ordinary commuter, Khosrowshahi appeared far removed from the image people usually associate with global tech executives.

Posting about the experience online, he described the Delhi Metro as “fast, affordable and reliable,” a statement that instantly resonated with users familiar with the city’s traffic nightmares.

Many online joked that if even the CEO of Uber chooses the metro in Delhi, that probably says everything one needs to know about the capital’s roads during busy hours.

Photos and videos from the journey showed Khosrowshahi walking through stations, travelling inside the coach and interacting with people around him. Unlike the heavily managed corporate visits often seen online, the metro ride appeared surprisingly normal and low-key.

"More than 10 million metro rides have been booked on the Uber app in India already—with a big shout out to Open Network For Digital Commerce (ONDC) for helping unlock this vision at scale," he wrote in the caption.

The internet, unsurprisingly, had plenty to say.

Some users laughed that Delhi traffic had “humbled” the Uber chief into becoming a metro passenger. Others appreciated the fact that he openly praised public transport infrastructure instead of treating it as competition to app-based cabs.

A few users also pointed out that the moment quietly reflected how Indian cities actually function, through a mix of metros, autos, buses, cabs and walking, all stitched together by commuters trying to survive peak-hour chaos.

In May, 2025 Uber had announced a common ticketing system for passengers opting for Delhi Metro.
