A baker based in New Orleans has shared how she burnt a custom-made birthday cake after her client discovered that her boyfriend had cheated on her.

Julie Fradella, who is also a business coach, recalled the incident in a video posted on Instagram. She said her client was supposed to pick up the large custom-made cake for her boyfriend’s party when she found out about the alleged infidelity.

“My client found out her boyfriend cheated on her the same day she was supposed to come and pick up this big cake for him,” Julie said. Instead of collecting the order, the client asked Julie to record herself smashing the cake on video. She also offered an extra $100 for what Julie called a “cake annihilation” clip.

Julie, however, decided to take the revenge video a step further. Addressing the boyfriend directly in the clip, she said, “Jonathan, it’s Julie. Just want to wish you a happy birthday. Had so much fun making this cake for your party tonight. It’s just one thing I don’t like. Cheaters, Jonathan, we don’t like cheaters.”

As she spoke, the large cake could be seen engulfed in flames in the background.

Speaking to TODAY.com, Julie said that the almond-flavoured cake was designed to feed around 75 people. The elaborate cake cost $600 (Rs 57,836 approximately), but she said the client had already paid for it, so she honoured her unusual request.

Julie Fradella said she disposed of the remaining pile of ash in a dumpster after burning the cake.
