A Welsh woman shared her amazement at India’s quick-commerce culture after ordering clothes for Holi through a delivery app and receiving them within minutes, calling the experience something the UK “could never” match.

Kara Wildbur, a full-time travel creator who grew up in North Wales, shared the video on her official Instagram account while documenting her experience travelling in India.

In the clip, Wildbur was seen speaking directly to the camera as she explained that she had woken up on the morning of Holi, India’s festival of colours, only to realise she had nothing suitable to wear.

“India might just have some of the most convenient apps we've ever experienced,” she said, before explaining that she had downloaded the quick-commerce app to order clothes that were supposedly set to arrive in under ten minutes.

Wildbur recalled first discovering the service a few weeks earlier while travelling in Agra, when she saw hotel guests casually ordering an entire suitcase through the app and receiving it at the hotel reception in less than ten minutes.

Inspired by that experience, she decided to try it herself after realising she needed Holi-friendly clothes at the last minute. She ordered a T-shirt and a pair of trousers and began documenting the delivery timeline in real time.

To her surprise, the order moved from “packing” to “on its way” within minutes, before she received a phone call saying the first part of her order had already arrived, barely three minutes after placing it.

Visibly stunned, Wildbur repeatedly expressed disbelief at the speed, showing viewers the T-shirt she had ordered while remarking on how inexpensive it was, especially considering the rapid delivery.

The second item took slightly longer due to confusion locating the hotel, with Wildbur explaining that language barriers made communication with the delivery partner difficult. At one point, she tried involving hotel security and even shared a Google Maps location to help resolve the issue.

Eventually, a security guard from a nearby hotel helped bridge communication, allowing the delivery partner to locate her. Despite the confusion, the full order still arrived within roughly ten minutes.

By the end of the video, Wildbur had changed into her newly delivered outfit and declared herself “ready for Holi” just 20 minutes after realising she had nothing to wear.

Sharing the clip online, she wrote: “Because why does the UK not have this? This is literally perfect for type B people who forget to do everything until the last minute!! INDIA, we love you!”

Social media users responded with enthusiasm, with several commenters indirectly pointing out that India now has multiple quick-commerce platforms offering similar rapid deliveries, suggesting that such convenience had become a normal part of urban life.

Others reflected more broadly on India’s infrastructure and pace of innovation, indirectly noting that while the country still had areas needing improvement, services like quick commerce showcased how efficiently some systems worked.

A few users also warmly invited the creator to return during other festivals, recommending experiences such as Deepawali.

Several commenters also joked about how addictive quick-commerce shopping could become, indirectly warning that once someone started using platforms like Blinkit, Zepto, or Instamart for small purchases, it quickly became a habit.

Some users humorously added that moments like these perfectly captured the phrase: “India is not for beginners.”
