Iran shares failed jump video of pole vaulter to mock JD Vance's delayed Pak visit

Iranian diplomatic accounts reacted with online satire after reports that a US delegation's Pakistan visit was paused amid stalled ceasefire talks. One video shared by Iran's consulate in Russia showed a pole vaulter failing a jump, captioned "JD Vance's trip to Pakistan," which was interpreted as a dig at the delayed or suspended visit.

Iranian embassies worldwide had a field day, taking a sarcastic dig at the US amid reports that a JD Vance-led delegation’s planned trip to Pakistan for the second round of talks was paused after ceasefire negotiations stalled.

To make light of the development, the Iranian consulate in Russia shared a video on X showing a pole vaulter attempting a jump but failing to clear the bar and falling back on the same side. The post was captioned, “JD Vance’s trip to Pakistan.”

In another video, the Iranian consulate in Hyderabad mocked US President Donald Trump and his decision to extend a ceasefire at “Pakistan’s request” in the ongoing Iran-related conflict.

The video begins with an AI-generated Trump, along with Vice President JD Vance and others, waiting at a negotiation table as Iran’s representatives fail to arrive. In the 45-second clip, Trump is shown typing on Truth Social, saying, “We are having very great negotiations with Iran.”

The video then cuts to a meme-style “2,000 years later” sequence, depicting an increasingly frustrated Trump threatening, “If Iran doesn’t come to negotiate, we’re gonna bomb them,” before asking, “So where are the Iranians?”

An aide then hands him a note that reads, “Shut up, Trump,” after which the AI-generated Trump says, “Alright, then I will extend the ceasefire at Pakistan’s request,” before walking out as laughter plays in the background.

“How was the ceasefire extended? The video is getting viral in Iran," the consulate captioned the post on X.

The video comes days after Trump announced that he is extending the ceasefire with Iran indefinitely at Pakistan’s request, claiming it would give Tehran more time to prepare a unified proposal to end the conflict.

Iran, however, has indicated uncertainty over returning to talks expected later this week in Pakistan.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei, quoted by state media, said Tehran had entered negotiations “in good faith,” but accused the US of showing “disregard and lack of good faith,” adding that Iran had not yet decided whether it would attend the next round of talks.
