Mahindra and Mahindra will significantly widen its product portfolio, outlining an aggressive rollout plan that will see 16 new models introduced by 2031. The revised strategy marks a notable escalation from its earlier targets, reflecting both faster execution and a broader ambition across ICE and electric portfolios.

The carmaker confirmed that the upcoming pipeline will include 10 internal combustion engine (ICE) models and 6 electric vehicles. What stands out is the emphasis on fresh products, nine of the ICE launches will carry entirely new nameplates, signalling a decisive shift beyond incremental updates.

This comes on the back of strong momentum over the past two years. Since 2024, Mahindra has already rolled out a substantial portion of its earlier plan, launching multiple ICE models alongside a parallel wave of EVs. With more than half of its original 2030 target effectively achieved by the end of FY2026, the company is now accelerating its cadence rather than tapering it.

The revised numbers tell the story clearly. From the remaining seven launches outlined in 2024, Mahindra has expanded the roadmap to 16 models over the next five years—more than doubling its forward-looking pipeline. The ICE side alone has grown from four planned launches to ten, while EVs have increased from three to six.

A key pillar supporting this expansion will be Mahindra’s new-generation architecture strategy. Several of the upcoming ICE models are expected to be based on the NU_IQ platform, unveiled in 2025, which is designed to underpin a new family of SUVs across segments.

Early design direction has already been previewed through concept vehicles like the Vision S, Vision X, Vision T and Vision SXT, each hinting at future additions to the brand’s core SUV lineup.

Meanwhile, the electric offensive continues to build in parallel. The INGLO platform, developed specifically for born-electric vehicles, will underpin the next phase of EV launches. Among the highlights is the production version of the BE.07 concept, currently slated for a 2027 debut, which will further expand Mahindra’s presence in the premium electric SUV space.

Taken together, the updated plan signals more than just a higher number of launches. It reflects a company that is moving with greater urgency, investing in new architectures, and diversifying its portfolio at a time when the market itself is undergoing rapid transformation.
