Skoda Epiq EV to make global debut May 19
Skoda Auto has announced the global debut of the Skoda Epiq on May 19, 2026, marking its entry-level EV push with a new design philosophy.

Skoda Auto has confirmed that its upcoming entry-level electric SUV, the Skoda Epiq, will make its global debut on May 19, 2026 in Zurich. Positioned as the brand’s most affordable EV, the Epiq is set to play a crucial role in expanding Skoda’s battery electric vehicle portfolio as it targets broader accessibility in the segment.
Compact footprint with bold styling
Measuring around 4.1 metres in length, the Epiq will sit below the Skoda Elroq in the brand’s global EV lineup. Its exterior design, previewed through earlier concepts, includes a distinctive ‘Tech Deck’ front fascia with T-shaped LED daytime running lights that double as turn indicators, complemented by sleek headlamps positioned below.
The SUV’s profile features rugged elements such as black body cladding and roof rails, while the rear design carries forward the T-shaped lighting signature along with a roof-mounted spoiler, reinforcing its crossover stance.
A new design direction for Skoda EVs
The Epiq will be the first production model from Skoda to fully adopt the brand’s ‘Modern Solid’ design philosophy. Interior sketches released ahead of the unveiling highlight a clean, minimalist layout with a strong emphasis on usability and spatial efficiency. A horizontally layered dashboard replaces traditional architecture, enhancing the sense of openness inside the cabin.
The cabin layout appears intuitive, with a freestanding centre console integrating wireless charging, along with neatly arranged storage areas. Ambient lighting elements and the use of sustainable materials further underline the company’s focus on combining practicality with a contemporary design approach.
Familiar underpinnings and expected tech
The Epiq is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB Entry (MEB+) platform, which it shares with the Volkswagen ID Polo. This shared architecture is expected to influence both its feature set and mechanicals. The interior design also hints at similarities with its Volkswagen sibling, including a compact digital driver display, a large central touchscreen, and physical controls for climate functions.
While full specifications are yet to be disclosed, the Epiq is likely to offer features such as a wireless phone charger, ambient lighting, and a practical cabin layout capable of accommodating five occupants comfortably, along with a sizeable boot.
Range and positioning
Skoda has confirmed a claimed driving range of up to 425km for the Epiq, although detailed powertrain specifications remain under wraps. Given its platform sharing, it could adopt battery options similar to those expected on the ID Polo, likely including multiple pack sizes.
As part of the Volkswagen Group’s broader "Urban Car Family," the Epiq is aimed at making electric mobility more accessible, particularly in European markets. With its combination of compact dimensions, practical interior, and competitive range, the model is expected to strengthen koda’s presence in the entry-level EV space when it is revealed later this month.
