Phase 3 of vaccination drive begins today

Vaccination against Covid-19 for all above the age of 45 begins today. This comes at a time when parts of the country are witnessing a sharp rise in new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus. Maharashtra recorded over 39,000 new cases in the last 24 hours along with 227 virus-related deaths.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), India has 5,52,566 active cases of infection while 1,14,34,301 patients have recovered and 1,62,468 have succumbed to Covid-19 in the country. A total of 6,30,54,353 Indians have been vaccinated against Covid-19 to date.
