Assam cabinet Minister and BPF leader Charan Boro retained his Mazbat constituency, defeating the nearest JMM rival by over 55,000 votes, according to Election Commission data.

Boro secured 84,718 votes against Priti Rekha Barla of the JMM, who polled 29,172 votes.

This is Boro's third win in the assembly elections.

He was the lone BPF representative in the outgoing ministry, having being inducted in October last year when his party became a part of the BJP-led NDA government here.
