Perambur Election Result 2026 Highlights: TVK wins with a lead of 38k votes, stuns DMK

With this, we have come to the end of our blog! This election has been an eye-opener for the people of Tamil Nadu. While this election has clearly been TVK's takeover, the Dravidian parties, DMK and AIADMK, faced big blows.

Vijay's TVK won Perambur seat with a margin of 38k votes, thereby making a mark in Tamil Nadu politics. By beating the two Dravidian parties, DMK and AIADMK, Vijay has scripted history.

A fan and a supporter of Vijay, actor and TVK's Chief, walked on her knees from East Coast Road to TVK's headquarters in Panaiyur.

According to sources, the winning candidates belonging to Vijay's TVK will be shifted to Four Points Resort in Mahabalipuram.

Aadhav Arjuna, general secretary of TVK, said, "We dedicate this historic victory to the families of the 41 people we lost in Karur. This victory of our leader Vijay, and of our candidates, is because women saw him as their son, their brother, their family—an emotional, trustworthy leader. They saw all our candidates as part of their own families. That is why today Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam has achieved a massive victory."

Director Nelson Dilipkumar, who worked with Vijay in Beast, congratulated the actor as he is all set to taste victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections.

TVK's Vijay is leading Perambur with nearly 31,000 votes.

Heavy security has been deployed outside the Neelangarai residence of TVK chief and actor Vijay in Chennai.

Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda is the latest celebrity to congratulate Vijay, who is on the cusp of victory over DMK and AIADMK in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections.

Actor and TVK chief Vijay is leading in Perambur with 25,000 votes over DMK. This is historic in Tamil Nadu as the party is all set to form a government in their first-ever attempt at electoral politics.

Actor Sivakarthikeyan congratulated Vijay for making a solid mark as TVK chief in his first-ever electoral contest. He extended his wishes to the actor-politician for his public life to shine.

Actor Chiyaan Vikram wished his nanba (friend) Vijay, who is all set to taste victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections.

"People have shown their trust. I don’t want to criticise that. People have shown faith in him and I have a feeling that Vijay will be able to repay that faith. I think people have shown faith in a new face," says Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan.

"I don’t know if it’s Vijay’s wave or a wave of hatred against the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu," she said.

SA Chandrasekhar, Vijay's father, has distanced himself from coalition talks.

"I don't know anything about coalition talks. You asked me how I was feeling, I was responding as a father. But, he is my leader. I am a volunteer of the party. So, I don't know. But, I am sure, he will do good to the people of Tamil Nadu," he said.

The decorated filmmaker visited Lord Murugan temple in Thiruttani. He spoke about how hundreds of peoplle spoke dearly about Vijay's success.

"I woke up at 3:30 am and went to Thiruttani temple. Whoever I met was jumping in joy. They said 'We voted and our brother won. They didn't say our leader won, they said our brother won'. Vijay has always maintained that he doesn't want to come to power as a leader, but as a friend, family member. He wants to create a corruption-free Tamil Nadu. He is determined to do it. I am as happy as the people of Tamil Nadu.

"The courage to contest the election alone is noteworthy. He was sure that people would give them their mandate only if he contented alone," he said.

Vijay's TVK is all set to taste victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections with 20k lead over MK Stalin-led DMK.

Vijay's mother, Shoba, and his cousins, indulged in an impromptu singing session as the actor-politician is on the cusp of victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections. They sang a line from Vijay's iconic track, Kodambakkam Area, which incidentally addressed Vijay's Chief Minister ambitions in 2013.

Director Rathna Kumar, also the writer of Vijay's Leo, paused his social media break, to express his joy at the actor's party inching towards victory. Talking about the sound of the whistles, he wrote, "Whatteee time to be alive and happening."

Vijay's father, SA Chandrasekhar, while speaking to the media, spoke about Congress' rich history and how they have lost their power over the years. "We will give that power. Not we, Vijay is ready to give," said SAC.

An elated Shoba Chandrasekhar, mother of actor-politician Vijay, expressed her joy in an interview with ANI. "I am so happy," she said as Vijay's TVK is inching towards a stunning victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Election.
