Amid severe waterlogging due to heavy rainfall, tourists visited the Konark Sun Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Heavy rainfall triggered massive waterlogging at the iconic site. The downpour caused the entrance of the temple to become completely submerged, visitors had to wade through knee-deep water.
As per eyewitnesses, the flooding made it difficult for tourists to navigate the area, with several people accidentally falling due to the slippery conditions. Some visitors sustained injuries as a result.
“This is a heritage site of global importance, and it’s shocking to see it in such a state,” a tourist remarked. “We came here to admire the beauty of the Sun Temple, but we were instead struggling to move around in knee-deep water.”
