Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Majithia arrested in illegal assets case

Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Majithia has been arrested by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau in an illegal assets case. The arrest follows raids on over 24 locations across Punjab and Chandigarh. Majithia is accused of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. This is his second arrest in recent years, with the previous one in 2022.
