15 jawans killed after Naxals trigger IED blast in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli

Naxals targeted an anti-Naxal operations team in an IED blast, killing at least 15 personnel and a driver in the devastating attack. The team of C60 Commandos was targeted by Naxals in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli, which is infamous for repeated Naxal attacks. Wednesday's attack is one of the biggest that has hit the security forces in Gadchiroli in the recent years. Police and Naxals are still engaged in firing at the blast site while remains of the vehicle that was blown off lies on the road.

Subodh Jaiswal, DGP Maharashtra, said, "We are prepared to give a befitting reply to this attack (Gadchiroli Naxal attack); Operations are going on in the area to ensure that no further casualties take place."
