Allahabad High Court slams Rahul Gandhi, says freedom to speak, not to defame Army

The Allahabad High Court has dismissed Rahul Gandhi's plea to quash summons in a defamation case related to his 2022 comments about Indian soldiers during the Tawang clash. The court stated that freedom of expression does not allow defamation of the Indian Army. Gandhi, as a Member of Parliament and public figure, is expected to make statements responsibly. The case stems from remarks made during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, where Gandhi allegedly claimed Chinese soldiers were beating up Indian troops.
