Assam girl gang-raped by three men on way home

Amid the people boiling in anger over the Kolkata rape-murder case and Badlapur sex abuse case, a gang-rape case has been reported from Assam. In the latest incident, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men in the Nagoan district of Assam, while she was returning home from her tuition on Thursday evening.

The minor was found in an unconscious state by the roadside and was rescued by locals, who then informed the police about the crime. The girl has been admitted to Dhing medical unit in Nagoan district for treatment.

The police have arrested one of the accused, identified as Tafazzul Islam, in the case.

Massive protests were witnessed after the incident with the Student Union calling a Bandh in the area today.
