BR Ambedkar's vandalised saffron statue resurrected, painted blue

A statue of BR Ambedkar that had been painted saffron in Uttar Pradesh's Badaun has now been repainted blue after a controversy erupted over the issue.

This comes a few days after statues of Dalit icon BR Ambedkar were damaged in villages of Ballia and Badaun districts of the state, the latest incidents of vandalism in a series of such acts. Similar incidents have taken place in Firozabad, Etah, Siddhartnagar and Allahabad districts recently.
