Climate change usually unfolds as a kind of slow violence: Amitav Ghosh

In an exclusive interview with India Today, author Amitav Ghosh talks about the climate crisis, exploitation of natural resources and much more.

Amitav Ghosh said, "There has been an utter disaster unfolding across so many parts of India because of drought. The prolonged drought that we see in Bundelkhand, for example, huge lands have been abandoned because people can't grow anything over there. This is an equally terrible disaster. People don't notice it because it happens slowly; it's not a spectacular disaster. But in fact, the way climate change usually unfolds is as a kind of slow violence and that actually we are seeing much more of."
