Cyclone Tauktae: Dos and don'ts as storm intensifies

The “very severe cyclonic storm” ‘Tauktae’ has intensified into an “extremely severe cyclonic storm” and is very likely to move north-northwestwards and reach Gujarat coast in the evening hours of May 17 and cross Gujarat coast between Porbandar and Mahuva (Bhavnagar district) during the night.

As Cyclone Tauktae makes its way to Gujarat coast, while passing through Mumbai, moderate to intense spells of rain with gusty winds are likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Palghar and Ratnagiri.
