Upset over Yoga guru Baba Ramdev's remarks on allopathy, members of the federation of resident doctors' associations are holding a nationwide protest today and observing it as a 'black day'. The protests are aimed at condemning the statements made by the Yoga guru on allopathy and calling it "a failed science". The Federation of Resident Doctors' Association (FORDA) added that the protests will take place "without hampering the patient care."
The controversy erupted after Baba Ramdev was heard questioning some medicines being used to treat the coronavirus infection and saying that "lakhs have died from taking allopathic medicines for Covid-19". The Indian Medical Association (IMA) had demanded that the central government take strict action against the yoga guru.
