Finance Ministry official dies, wife critical after car hits their bike

A senior Finance Ministry official was killed and his wife critically injured after their motorcycle was hit by a BMW car in Delhi's Dhaulakuan area on 14th September. The victim, Navjot Singh, was a Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Finance. He and his wife, Sandeep Kaur, were returning from Bangla Sahib Gurudwara when the accident occurred. The police are investigating why the couple was taken to a hospital 19 kilometers away in North Delhi, bypassing several major hospitals like AIIMS and Safdarjung that were nearby. The family of the victims has raised questions about this decision. The victim's son stated, "In Dhaulakom, there are so many hospitals. If they would have taken [them] there, I would have been saved." The driver of the BMW, Gagandeep, and her husband were also hospitalized following the crash.
