First snowfall in higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir

Upper reaches of Kashmir valley witnessed the first snowfall of the season. The weather department has predicted bad weather for a few days. Snowfall at hill stations like Gulmarg and Pahalgam are bringing hope of revival of tourism in the area which has been severely hit for most of the year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Gulmarg is covered with the a white blanket of snow and is already attracting visitors.

The Srinagar-Jammu highway has been shut down due to bad weather. There is a considerable dip in the temperature as well.
