Look at Afghanistan: Mehbooba Mufti warns Centre, demands restoration of J&K's special status

Citing how the “US was compelled to pack its bags in Afghanistan”, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti asked the Centre to restore the J&K’s special status.
The central government should initiate discussions the same way the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government did and restore the state's unique status before it is too late, she said.
Mufti went on to add, “Don't put us to the test; change your ways now while you still have the chance. Remember how Atal Bihari Vajpayee initiated the peace process? You must resume talks with Kashmiris and return all looted property.”
