An India Today ground report reveals how the acute LPG crisis, linked to the impact of the West Asia war, is forcing thousands of migrant workers in many cities to abandon their jobs and return to their villages. Visuals from Gaya Junction and Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Junction in Chandoli show packed trains filled with tired workers heading back home from cities like Delhi, Surat, Mumbai and Gujarat. With LPG becoming unaffordable, daily work drying up, factories slowing down, shifts being cut and wages falling, labourers face an impossible choice between paying for fuel or feeding their families. One worker described the desperation, saying they would rather stay at home for a month or two than struggle without basic necessities.
