Mamata Banerjee, Trinamool delegation meet Chief Election Commissioner over SIR

West Bengal Chief Minister, Trinamool Congress delegation and 12 'SIR-affected' families on Monday met Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in Delhi.

Accompanied by Abhishek Banerjee and Kalyan Banerjee, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) delegation wore a black shawl as a mark of protest against the SIR. The meeting lasted over an hour, during which the TMC presented data alleging 'at least 152 alleged deaths related to SIR that has taken place' in Bengal. Apart from TMC delegation, 12 family members of deceased Data Entry Operators (DLOs) who reportedly died due to SIR-related pressure were also present during the meeting. Mamata Banerjee had written six letters to the CEC prior to this meeting.
