Modi govt will always ensure safety of children or women: Smriti Irani

Breaking silence on the Hathras case, Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani, while addressing a press conference on Saturday, said that the Narendra Modi government, in the past, has ensured death penalty for those accused of gangrape. The government also introduced special provisions in the POCSO ACT. "I believe, from the government's side, whether it is about the budget or amending laws in Parliament, the Modi government has always been two steps ahead to implement the changes... We will always ensure the safety of children or women," she said.
