Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired the third Cabinet Committee on Security meeting since the West Asia conflict began, focusing on safeguarding India from the war's impact. The high-level meeting included Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. The previous CCS meeting on 22 March had discussed contingency measures, with LPG supply being a core issue. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has emphasised that the government is working to ensure no shortage of LPG and to curb rumour-mongering. The meeting will take stock of the situation and discuss new measures if the conflict continues to escalate. The government aims to keep trade channels open and protect Indians from being impacted by the West Asia war.
