MPs demand severe punishment for Telangana rape-murder accused in Rajya Sabha

The Rajya Sabha on Monday had a united voice over the brutal rape and murder case of Telangana veterinarian as several leaders demanded immediate punishment for the perpetrators of the heinous crime.

"People like the four lorry workers accused of raping and killing a young woman veterinarian in Telangana should be lynched in public," Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan said on Monday in the house. Meanwhile, The Leader of the Opposition, Ghulam Nabi Azad of the Congress, said the problem couldn't be solved through legislation alone. Azad said there was a need to "take a stand together against such crimes".
