Twitter confirms locking Ravi Shankar Prasad's account due to US copyright policy

Hours after Union Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Twitter blocked his account for an hour, the social media giant confirmed that it had blocked his account due to US copyright policy.

In a statement, Twitter said, "We can confirm that the Honourable Minister's account access was temporarily restricted due to a DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) notice only and the referenced tweet has been withheld."
