We are shocked, says sister-in-law of Red Fort blast suspect Dr Umar

Dr. Mohammad Umar, linked to the Faridabad terror module, was driving the Hyundai i20 that exploded near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday night, killing nine and injuring 20. Umar, a doctor at Al Falah Medical College, was described by his sister-in-law as a “bookworm” devoted to his studies. Speaking to Aaj Tak, she said the family was “shocked”, adding that he was their “only hope to rise out of poverty.” Police have detained Umar’s two brothers and mother for questioning.
