Bachchan wrote, “Deeply saddened by the news of the passing of our dearly loved Ef Shalini Singh, from Allahabad ( PrayagRaj) (sic)."

Opening up further, he admitted that such moments are always the most difficult and painful to express in words, and that he turns to offering love, prayers and condolences in times of loss.

“I pray, we all pray for the departed soul, and for it the calm and peace it has always deserved, in grief (sic)," he added.

On the work front, Bachchan was last seen in Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, alongside Rajinikanth and Fahadh Faasil.

He is currently working on the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD with Nag Ashwin, co-starring Kamal Haasan and Prabhas.

The actor is also expected to feature in Ramayana: Part 1, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash and Sunny Deol.
