Kartik Aaryan seeks protection of personality rights against unauthorised use
Kartik Aaryan has approached the Bombay High Court to safeguard his digital personality rights. The case is scheduled to be heard on April 9.

Actor Kartik Aaryan has approached the Bombay High Court to protect his personality rights from alleged unauthorised commercial use online. He has filed an intellectual property (IP) suit against several Indian and international e-commerce and social media platforms, along with unidentified “John Doe” individuals accused of misusing his identity.
The plea states that his name, image and likeness are being used without permission on merchandise, ads and other digital content, violating his publicity and privacy rights. Kartik has sought a permanent injunction to stop the defendants from using his photos, videos, voice or any other personal attributes for commercial purposes, including through AI tools and deepfakes.
The actor has also asked online platforms and authorities to remove such content and reveal the identities of those behind it. The case will be heard on April 9, when senior advocate Birendra Saraf is expected to seek urgent relief for Aaryan.
Kartik was last seen in the Hindi romantic drama Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, directed by Sameer Vidwans. The film also featured actors Ananya Panday, Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta in key roles.
Kartik will next be seen in director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba's Naagzilla, in which he is reportedly believed to be playing an Ichadhari Naag, a shape-shifting serpent. The film is co-produced by Karan Johar, Mahaveer Jain, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, and Sujit Jain.
The actor is also set to appear in Anurag Basu’s next film, co-starring Sreeleela, with its release expected later this year.
