Nora’s return to the FIFA stage follows her appearance at the Qatar World Cup, where she performed at a fan event.

Recent controversy and response

The development comes days after Nora appeared before the National Commission for Women following a summons over the alleged indecent portrayal of women in the song Sarke Chunar. The Hindi version of the track, featuring Nora and Sanjay Dutt, had sparked criticism over its lyrics after its release in March.

Speaking to the media after her appearance, Nora said she had submitted a written apology. She stated that there was no intent to offend, while acknowledging the responsibility that comes with being a public figure. She also shared that she plans to support the education of orphaned girls as a step towards giving back.

Following the backlash, the Hindi version of the song was removed from YouTube, though it continued to circulate on other platforms. The lyricist, singer and director associated with the track also issued apologies.
