One love: Diljit cheers Jimmy Fallon in thank-you note for celebrating his culture
Diljit Dosanjh thanked Jimmy Fallon after his second appearance on The Tonight Show and shared a backstage Bhangra moment with the host. The exchange underscored his push to represent Indian culture globally as he also spoke about the emotional weight of his Vancouver concert.
Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh on Wednesday shared a note for Jimmy Fallon after appearing on The Tonight Show for the second time, thanking the host for giving him a platform to represent Indian culture. He also posted a video from the sets, where Fallon greets him warmly before the two hug and break into Bhangra inside the studio.
During the episode, Dosanjh spoke about his career and reflected on his recent concert in Vancouver, Canada, where he performed before a crowd of around 55,000 Indians. He also performed his track Morni on the show.
Sharing the video from the sets, the 42-year-old wrote: "@jimmyfallon Brother you have such A Positive Aura About You.. (heart hand emoji) Thank You So Much For Giving us a Platform to Represent Our Culture (folded hand emoji) ONE LOVE."
Diljit Dosanjh invokes Sikh history
Dosanjh also recalled the Vancouver concert moving him like never before. He mentioned the 1914 Guru Nanak Jahaz Komagata Maru incident involving 376 passengers, mostly Sikhs from Punjab, who were denied entry in Vancouver by discriminatory Canadian immigration laws, specifically the "continuous journey regulation," and were forced to return to India after months of confinement and suffering.
He said, "That stadium we did in Vancouver... like 1914, our people came first time in Canada, they didn’t allow us to come and go to Canada. And that stadium is just two kilometres away from the Guru Nanak Jahaz Komagata Maru incident. So, it’s a big thing for us. Now, 55,000 people in the one stadium there, just two kilometres away. You didn’t allow us to come, and now, here we are, man. So, that’s why it’s amazing (sic)."
This marked Dosanjh's second appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He made his debut on the show in 2024, when he performed G.O.A.T. and Born to Shine after being introduced as the "biggest Punjabi artist on the planet." He was dressed in a white dhoti kurta and turban.

Apart from releasing new music and planning his upcoming tour, Dosanjh has also been busy with his acting career. He was most recently seen in Border 2. The sequel to JP Dutta's Border was released in January this year and collected over Rs 400 crore worldwide. Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Nidhi Dutta, JP Dutta and Krishan Kumar, the film also featured Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, alongside Mona Singh, Anya Singh, Medha Rana and Sonam Bajwa.
He will next be seen in Imtiaz Ali's partition film Main Vaapas Aaunga, which marks the second collaboration between the director and Dosanjh after the 2024 film Amar Singh Chamkila. Set against the backdrop of the 1947 partition, the film also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari Wagh and Vedang Raina, and is slated to release in cinemas on June 12.
