Ranbir Kapoor explains Lord Ram's legacy, shares 1st glimpse of Ramayana role in LA
Ranbir Kapoor unveiled the first glimpse of his character, Lord Rama, from Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana at a special Los Angeles screening. The actor reflected on the legacy of "Maryada Puroshattam" ahead of the film's India reveal on Hanuman Jayanti.

Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Rama in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, presented the first glimpse of his role in Los Angeles on Monday. Addressing the audience and media, the actor spoke about the significance of Lord Ram and his legacy as "Maryada Puroshattam."
The same glimpse is scheduled to be unveiled in India on April 2, marking the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.
Both Kapoor and Tiwari spoke about the values of Lord Rama and what the epic Ramayana stands for. "Lord Ram has been a conscience-keeper of billions of people around the globe for centuries, and he will continue to be so long after we have gone. He enlightens us about the drive of the human spirit in terms of adversities. He stands for compassion, for courage, for righteousness, for forgiveness. He is called Maryada Puroshattam which stands for an ideal man," the actor said.
The 43-year-old actor is joined by Sai Pallavi, who plays Goddess Sita in the film. Earlier, producer Namit Malhotra announced that the first glimpse of Lord Rama from the film will be unveiled on Hanuman Jayanti, marking the beginning of the film’s promotional journey ahead of its planned Diwali release this year.
The glimpse will be released worldwide on Thursday between 9:00 am and 10:30 am, with grand events being planned across the country.
Ramayana is based on sage Valmiki's epic. The film also features Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, Yash as Ravana, and Ravi Dubey as Laxman. Lara Dutta, Vivek Oberoi, Arun Govil, Sheeba Chaddha, Kajal Aggarwal, Kunal Kapoor, Indira Krishnan, and Faisal Malik, among others, play key roles.
