Donald Trump dials Narendra Modi, Chandrayaan 2 to enter lunar orbit, floods wreak havoc on the hills, more

US President Donald Trump spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Kashmir issue. The 30-minute long phone conversation was the first one since Centre announced its decision to revoke Jammu and Kashmir's special status under Article 370, which irked Pakistan. PM Modi reportedly called out his Pakistan counterpart Imran Khan over his anti-India rhetoric and also highlighted the menace of cross-border terrorism.

In other news, ISRO is set to insert the Chandrayaan 2 spacecraft into the lunar orbit. After entering the lunar orbet, Chandrayaan 2 will be performing 4 orbit manoeuvres to place the spacecraft into its final orbit before the crucial landing on the lunar surface on September 7.

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand and Himachal continue to battle nature's fury. Cloudbursts and flash-floods have claimed lives of 49 people in Uttarakhand, while in Himachal Pradesh a 48-hour orange alert has been issued.
