First up, is our Club review of this week's release, Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma-starrer, Jab Harry Met Sejal.
Imtiaz Ali has lost the plot, literally. It seems like the director developed these characters of Harry and Sejal, wrote several scenes which hold a certain entertainment quotient in their individual capacity but rather than writing a proper script, he just banged the scenes together. There is no flow, no direction and absolutely no sense in this hopeless script.
Perhaps the most important question we need to ask is why did Anushka sign this film, she is the industry's most improved actress and she unbelievably manages to overpower the shoddy script. Full credit to her for not letting her character become completely unwatchable.
SRK proves once again that he is indeed the king, of hamming. It's high time Shah Rukh Khan accepts reality, he's no longer the heartthrob lover boy. It is heavy on the eyes watching him smooch Anushka Sharma.
Meanwhile, If you are a fan of Bollywood music, chances are less that you would not have been moved by Kishore Kumar's music. The legendary singer dominated the Hindi music industry for several decades. From soft numbers to peppy tracks to romantic songs, Kishore Kumar gave Bollywood fans some of the evergreen songs.
Despite stiff competition from other singers, Kishore made an impact on the music scene of the country, largely owing to his signature style and unique voice. Not just in Hindi, he made his mark in several other Indian languages. Had this singer been alive today, he'd have turned 88.
