Black Gold: The story of oil

More precious to the world today than the element of gold -- the fossil fuel that drives the world, power, technology, economies, policies and politics. Oil has become the sought-after commodity in the 21st century as countries fight over depleting fossil fuels.

Spiralling fuel prices have led to nationwide protests. The Opposition has termed fuel prices, that have been breaking records on a daily basis, anti-people.

The government, however, continues to blame rising global crude prices and falling rupee for the soaring fuel prices.
